Well, here we go again. My journal is up and running...again, for the time being, anyway. I'm still in Germany. Did spend two and a half weeks in the USA, with my family of course! And my friends! Yes, along with Edy's Coney Island Waffle Cone and beef, I miss them. Oh well. It's only what, six more months?

Here is what I have learned in the past few months that I have been in Germany. Germans have strange taste in TV shows and movies, as evidenced by the TV shows they choose to import from the USA. While I applaud choices like Ally McBeal, MacGyver, Buffy, Angel, Cosby, The Cosby Show, Dark Angel, Star Trek: Voyager, and Star Trek: The Next Generation, I have to wonder if they were smoking crack when they selected movies and shows like Mr. Magoo, Unhappily Ever After, and Family Matters. The one German TV show I am absolutely addicted to is Kochduell, a cooking show which is basically a competition between cooks, though not as fun as The Iron Chef.

I've also discovered the joy of Schlussverkauf (end of season sales). Or the beginnings of them. My classmate told me that I should do my shopping next week, when all the stores have things on sale. This could be a Very Bad Thing. Particularly since I need a few things, and we all know how that will turn out.

What else? Not much. Working on some new poems, some short stories, that sort of thing. Will be interviewing people (finally! yes!) and it's all starting to come together. Saw some girl in the Pädagogik building where I take classes--she was wearing an awesome shirt with Sophie Scholl, Hans Scholl--and I think Christoph Probst--on the back of it. So I asked her where she got it, and she said she didn't buy it, rather, she made it herself, and she said she'd get one to me. I hope she does. It was really great looking!

Scary news: I have to take an exam next week. In German, of course. Yikes. I talked to the professor, though, and she pretty much said, go ahead and try the exam. If I fail the exam, then we'll just have a discussion, which could be a good thing. I just really want to try and get a decent grade on the exam. I don't want to fail an exam or a class for the very first time. Don't wanna embarrass that Fulbright-Kommission...
