Well, here is my very short photo presentation of Germany. It probably will remain limited for a long, long, long time because I do not have a scanner with me. Ah well. Enjoy anyway. staceyfrankfurt.jpg (16087 bytes) Here I am in Frankfurt. This is the only picture I have of Frankfurt: me and some pretty building. Luckily, this picture came out, even though I was melting. A lot. Way too much, since it was hot, muggy, and humid in Frankfurt. Well, it was hot and muggy and humid just about everywhere, so what am I talking about? I was in Frankfurt for three days for an orientation meeting which was held in a non-air conditioned building (of course).

From Frankfurt, my language group went to Regensburg--a short drive, and we stopped at Wertheim on the way, which really was quite pretty.

jaemeanna.jpg (15421 bytes) This is not Wertheim. Rather, it's Passau. Or really, it's me, Jae, and Anna standing in front of a lovely view in Passau. What I remember about Passau: eating ice cream with Jae. And we had a very cool tour guide. Despite that, though, our group dwindled in size till it was time for us to go back on the bus.

oktoberfest1.jpg (16844 bytes) Munich has some great things. One is beer. The other is Oktoberfest. Heck, really, those go hand in hand. The first day of Oktoberfest, some of us language course people went to Munich (only a two hour long train ride) and we sat in the tent for oh, three or four hours before the fest was officially started. Stoiber was there, too. Not at our table, of course. By the way, that's Adrienne, Kelly, and me. And there were tons of people and lots of smoke and lots of beer and just a lot of people. It was crowded.  We danced on tables. Some cigarette smoker burned the back of my hand. Ouch.

oktoberfest2.jpg (18555 bytes)Three hours. Count 'em.

Why? That's how long it took me to down a Maß (one liter of beer). Then Kelly and I shared a second beer--to drink two liters is a bit excessive for me.

Heck, even one liter was a bit excessive. I was not drunk but was a little bit Not Me. Yeah. Bet you didn't even know I was capable of drinking more than a glass of beer. A small glass.

But in Germany, I discovered I like beer. It's not bad here.
